Easy Dinner Rolls


  • 230g all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp instant yeast
  • 50 g  soft butter
  • 1/2 cup warm milk
  • 2 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/2  tsp salt
  • 1 egg reserve 2 tablespoon + milk  for egg wash
  • Melted butter to apply after baking


  1. Place flour in a mixing bowl.   Whisk together milk, instant yeast, sugar, butter and egg.
  2. Combine all ingredients including salt  in a mixing bowl. Mix and knead using hand, stand mixer of bread maker, to make a soft and smooth dough.
  3. Transfer onto floured board,  knead for 10 minutes. Place onto greased and covered bowl, let rise until doubled for 1-1 and 1/2 hours.
  4. Gently deflate the dough, divide into 8 or 10.  Round each piece into smooth ball.
  5. Place balls into greased 8 in round pan or baking sheet. Cover and let rise 60-90 minutes until puffy. Towards the end of rising time, preheat oven @ 180 C.   Combine eggs with milk, brush it over the risen rolls.
  6. Bake for 25 minutes until golden brown. Remove from oven and brush with melted butter.
